Origin: Scotland
Apperance: The asrai have long green hair and webbed feet. They are extremely pale and have translucent bodies. Both males and females appear as 20 years old, but in fact are ancient. They are very small and delicate.
Habitat: Most account (of a very few) place the asrai in oceans, but it is also said they live in deep lakes. The are not capable of living on land.
Purpose/abilities: The asrai are completely nocturnal and melt into a pool of water when on land or touched by sunlight.
Disposition: The asrai are extremely shy. They have been blamed for good days and bad, but there is so little information that it is not clear on their overall intent towards humans.
Folklore: Mythologists speculate that this race was condemned to the water for some grievious misdee, real or imagined. It is also said they come to the surface of the water every one hundred years just to gaze at the moon.
