Story
In the Sequel to Vampire Knight by Matsuri Hino we now see Yuuki begin to remember parts of her forgotten past. In her search to find out about her real family, she begins to unravel the secrets that where hidden from her to protect her, she must choose between Kuran Kaname, the one she owes her life to, or Kiryuu Zero, whom she has always wanted to protect. Yuuki wants to know more and the secret will soon be revealed. Mystery and a forbidden love all around our beloved characters of Yuki, Kaname and Zero make for a dynamic tale.
Animation
As with the first in the series, so holds true to the animation quality of this sequel. The characters are beautifully drawn giving the proper austere and mystical dash of paint to this haunting and compelling landscape.
Sound
The same artists return once more but with different songs to grace the anime. First for the Opening Theme we have "Rondo" by ON/OFF; In the ending Theme we have"Suna no Oshiro" by Kanon Wakeshima. The ending song is soft and drifts rather like a ghost but has a beauty that wraps you up in the tale.
Characters
Like the first of the series, our characters come back and with a more developed richness. We begin to see complex inner battles of human-like nature, even among the vampires, that has you identifying with their precepts and ideals.
Overall
A wonderful conclusions that still leaves up to interpretation the possible future of Yuuki, the Night Class, Zero, and the Headmaster. While the manga has run past the Anime's storyline, it is nonetheless a great anime to stand apart as a written adaptation.
